Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using lait.finance ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service. We reserve the right to update these terms at any time, with notice provided via email or in-app notification.

2. Service Description

lait.finance is a personal finance aggregation and portfolio management platform. It allows you to connect bank accounts (via Open Banking/PSD2), crypto wallets, exchanges, and other financial sources to view your consolidated net worth, track investments, monitor transactions, and receive AI-powered financial insights — all in one dashboard.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. By creating an account, you represent that you are at least 18 years of age and have the legal capacity to enter into these terms.

4. Account Registration

To use the Service, you must create an account via our authentication provider (Clerk). You are responsible for: • Maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials. • All activity that occurs under your account. • Notifying us immediately at support@lait.finance if you suspect unauthorized access. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

5. Read-Only Access

All connections to your financial accounts (banks, exchanges, wallets) are strictly read-only. lait.finance cannot and will never initiate payments, transfers, trades, or any other financial transactions on your behalf. We can only view balances and transaction history that you explicitly authorize.

6. Open Banking (PSD2)

When you connect a bank account, the connection is facilitated by Enable Banking, a licensed Account Information Service Provider (AISP) operating under PSD2 regulations. By connecting a bank account, you: • Authorize Enable Banking to access your account information on behalf of lait.finance. • Acknowledge that consent is valid for up to 90 days and must be renewed. • Can revoke access at any time through lait.finance Settings or directly with your bank. • Understand that your bank may have its own terms governing third-party access.

7. API Keys & Credentials

If you provide API keys for crypto exchanges or other services, you are solely responsible for ensuring those keys have read-only permissions. lait.finance encrypts stored credentials but is not liable for any consequences of providing keys with write or trade permissions. We strongly recommend using read-only API keys exclusively.

8. AI Features

The Service includes AI-powered features (transaction categorization, financial advisor). These features: • Provide informational insights only and do not constitute financial advice. • Use third-party AI models (OpenAI) to process transaction descriptions. • May produce inaccurate categorizations or suggestions — always verify AI outputs. • Should not be relied upon for investment, tax, or legal decisions.

9. Not Financial Advice

lait.finance is a data aggregation and visualization tool. Nothing on the platform constitutes financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. All portfolio values, performance metrics, and AI insights are for informational purposes only. Always consult a qualified financial advisor before making investment decisions.

10. Acceptable Use

You agree not to: • Use the Service for any illegal purpose. • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' data. • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Service. • Use automated scripts, bots, or scrapers against the Service. • Share your account credentials with others. • Upload malicious files or content. • Circumvent rate limits or security measures.

11. Data Accuracy

lait.finance aggregates data from multiple external sources (banks, exchanges, market data providers). While we strive for accuracy, we cannot guarantee that all displayed values, prices, balances, or calculations are correct at all times. External APIs may experience delays, outages, or inaccuracies. You should always verify important financial information directly with your financial institutions.

12. Service Availability

We aim to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control. We are not liable for any losses resulting from service downtime.

13. Pricing

lait.finance is currently free during the beta period. If we introduce paid plans in the future, existing users will be notified in advance and will not be charged without explicit consent.

14. Intellectual Property

All content, design, code, and branding of lait.finance are the property of Carlos Muñoz. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without explicit written permission.

15. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, lait.finance and its operator shall not be liable for: • Any financial losses resulting from reliance on data displayed in the Service. • Inaccurate portfolio valuations, price data, or calculations. • Unauthorized access to your account due to compromised credentials. • Actions taken by third-party services (banks, exchanges, API providers). • Loss of data due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control. The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.

16. Termination

You may delete your account at any time. Upon deletion, your data will be removed within 30 days in accordance with our Privacy Policy. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms, with notice where reasonably possible.

17. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Spain and the European Union. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Barcelona, Spain.
